Brief description

A canvaswork purse or pocketbook with a flamestitch design worked in jagged stripes in shaded colors on double mesh canvas. One end has the name "Elizabeth Fitz" in green cross-stitch on a lavender cross-stitch bar. The embroidery is stretched over pasteboard and lined with blue and pink shot silk. One pasteboard divider is intact but the original black silk dividers are missing. It is bound in handwoven red wool tape.
