Bust portrait of Rebecca Tufts Whittemore (Mrs. William Whittemore) facing 3/4 right. Dark hair and eyes. She wears a pleated cap with lace crown, a blue empire gown with embroidered net neck ruff, bodice inset and fichu. Gown has short puffed sleeves. She wears a gold pendant earring, and there appears to be a partially covered diamond ornament in her hair. In red paint in obverse lower left corner, "Greenwood pinx 1811". On the reverse, an old paper is glued to the canvas, "Portrait of Rebecca Tufts Whittemore Painted by Greenwood 1811."
